SFCC, CMU to sponsor open house at Clinton site
SEDALIA—State Fair Community College will sponsor an open house from 4-6 p.m. Feb. 19 at its Clinton site in the new Truman Regional Education Center (TREC). Central Methodist University will co-host the event.
The Clinton Chamber of Commerce will have a ribbon cutting at 4:30 p.m. Dr. Marsha Drennon, SFCC president, and Dr. Jack Healy, associate dean for the CMU College of Liberal Arts and Sciences, will speak. Refreshments will be served.
The site at 1701 N. Second St. opened Jan. 11 for spring semester. SFCC-Clinton has 281 students this spring, a 54 percent increase over spring 2009.
SFCC-Clinton offers classes and the following degree programs at the TREC:
• An Associate of Arts (AA) degree for transfer to a four-year college
• An Associate of Arts in Teaching (AAT) degree
• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees in Business Management with four specialties: Marketing/Retail, Office Management, Business Management, or Real Estate
• Associate of Applied Science (AAS) degrees in Criminal Justice, Early Childhood Development, Industrial Technology, and Paraprofessional Educator
• Professional Certificates in Industrial Technology and in Real Estate Appraisal
