WHY JOIN THE GREATER CLINTON AREA CHAMBER OF COMMERCE?

The Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce is a business and professional organization which exists to make this community a better place in which to work, live and play. The many committees of the Chamber of Commerce function in all areas of our community…economic, cultural, agriculture, education, social and recreation.

As an action organization, the Chamber is a civic clearing house, a public relations counselor to visitors and newcomers, an information bureau for new businesses and tourists, and a collective voice for representing business interests at the local, state and national levels of government.

There is something for everyone in the Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce. Join our active organization in our efforts to make Clinton and the Truman Lake area a better place to work, live and play.

THE CHAMBER’S PURPOSE
The purpose of the Greater Clinton Area Chamber of Commerce is the advancement of the commercial, industrial and civic interests of Clinton, Missouri and its trade area.

WHO RUNS THE CHAMBER?
The organization’s lifeblood is its members. From those members, a Board of Directors is selected and meets every month to set policy. The Board is led by a six person Executive Committee and four paid staff members.

WHO ARE ITS MEMBERS?
Membership in the Chamber provides you an opportunity to join with some 400 other businesses, professionals, industries, farmers, utilities, transporters, educators and retires all working together with an effective voice in civic affairs to accomplish what no single business could do for the Clinton area.

BENEFITS OF BEING A CHAMBER MEMBER
We would like to take this opportunity to highlight the many “to your door” benefits as well as training and growth opportunities your membership brings to you.

Referrals – Every day the Chamber puts potential customers in touch with member businesses and organizations through our referral services. The Chamber has hundreds of walk-in visitors and phone inquiries each year. Referrals are constantly given on member firms. Every request is answered promptly and courteously, creating a favorable impression for our community. This is a key element in our commitment to helping members prosper.

Community Growth – The Chamber is the community’s “Front Door”. Whether it be a phone call, and email request or a walk-in visit, we sell Clinton. Creating a positive first impression helps bring new residents and businesses to the community.

Communication – Through the newsletter, the Weekly Update and broadcast emails and faxes, Chamber members are provided with business information and opportunities to voice their opinions and/or concerns.

Information Research – Chamber staff will gladly assist Chamber members in obtaining necessary information and data for business related activities.

Marketing Services – Increasing public awareness of the many businesses, industries and community service organizations in our area is a core function of the Chamber. Members are promoted through their listing in the Chamber’s Membership Directory and in the Member section of the Chamber website. These listings are part of your membership investment.

Literature Display – All Chamber members are invited to keep the Chamber office supplied with their most recent brochures. Our door is always open and we have numerous visitors daily.

Gift Certificates – Area employers show their support for the community and encourage their employees to “Shop in Clinton” by giving and redeeming Chamber Gift Certificates. These certificates are available at the Chamber office and can be purchased in any amount. They are not redeemable for cash, thus encouraging shopping “locally”.

Yearly Member Emblem – All members receive a membership sticker to enhance your business image and provide confidence in your customers that you are an established and professional business.

Information – Everything anyone needs to know about the Clinton area is available at the Chamber office.  Resources include telephone directories, maps, club and organization lists, community profiles and much more.

Business After Hours – Through our monthly “Business After Hours” get-togethers, Chamber members have the opportunity to build relationships, exchange business cards and make new contacts.

Committee Involvement – The Chamber has a variety of committees and projects that are open to member involvement. This is another tool to build business relationships while also serving the community.

Ribbon Cuttings/Ground Breakings/Special Anniversary Recognitions – When expanding a business or bringing a new business to town, the Chamber will help you create a marketing event to make others in the community aware of your business growth. When your business celebrates that special Anniversary (10, 20, 25 years in business, etc.), the Chamber will visit your business, present an anniversary cake and provide a photo and write-up to the local media.
