Higher Education Coming Soon to Clinton
The old Wetzel Clinic building is now the Truman Regional Educational Center (TREC). Demolition of the first floor of the building is now complete and ready for new construction to begin. The new construction will consist of classrooms, an anatomy and physiology lab, a commons area (student lounge), computer lab, conference room, offices and lobby area. State Fair Community College and Central Methodist University will begin offering classes later this year at the TREC.
The TREC building is owned locally by Community Association of Regional Enterprises, Inc. (CARE). CARE is a 501 (c)(3) non-profit organization formed by Kaysinger Basin Regional Planning Commission to serve a seven county region in West Central Missouri. A seven member Board of Directors comprised of area business and community leaders governs CARE.
This locally owned center for education is in need of your tax-deductible contributions to ensure that construction will be complete for classes later this year. All donations are appreciated. If you are interested in having a classroom named in your honor or in honor of someone else, please contact Don Eaton at 660-885-3393. Donations will also be accepted at the local Kaysinger Basin office on North Second Street in Clinton.
